The Latin American Motorcycle Association is a family friendly, humanist association that does not distinguish between race, color, nationality, ethnic origins, religion, gender, age, social class, motorcycle brand, etc. LAMA members share a passion for motorcycles that unite us in a brotherhood with Democratic ideals. LAMA was created to organize local and distance recreational activities for its members such as local charity events, family gatherings, scenic rides for fun and rough roads for the challenge. We are more than a motor touring association, we are a family.

MEMBERSHIPS

Membership in LAMA is open to individuals who own a motorcycle with a displacement of 650 cc or greater, are employed (own a business or are retired with proof), hold a valid motorcycle driver's license, and have insurance where required by law.

A Fully-Patched member has graduated through the Prospect and Probate requirements per the L.A.M.A. National & Chapter By-Laws.

All Prospects must be sponsored by an official chapter member who serves as their mentor. The application must be signed by the chapter president and the sponsoring member.

The Prospect will receive an international membership patch to be worn on the front left side of their black leather vest and a “P” patch to be placed on the back of the vest.

After a minimum of three (3) months, the Prospect may be eligible to graduate to Probate after meeting requirements outlined in the LAMA National & LAMA FXBG Chapter by-laws.

An Associate Member is an individual who supports the Latin American Motorcycle Association but may not have the time to fulfill the requirements of a chapter member. The associate member has the privilege to participate in all L.A.M.A. activities hosted throughout the world. Associate member's are members at large and wear a distinctive International Associate member's patch and yearly renewal rocker.

DAMA Patches will be awarded to women who own and ride their motorcycles and fulfill the same LAMA requirements as male members. The DAMA patch and the “P” patch will be presented together at the beginning of their membership.

DAMA patches cannot be used by Spousal Members, but a female spousal member can graduate to a DAMA without having to go back to wearing a “P” patch if she fulfills the requirements.
